Job Description

We are looking for a Recertification Specialist in Washington, DC!

We are looking for an energetic individual who has superb customer service and organizational skills who enjoys becoming involved in a team-based supportive atmosphere.

The primary responsibility of this position is to fully prepare initial and annual recertifications for all residents in full compliance with HUD and LIHTC regulations.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Maintain property waiting list
  • Coordinate on-site data collections and processing of resident information
  • Schedule resident recertification interviews
  • Insure proper calculation of income, assets, rent levels, etc
  • Coordinate apartment inspections for recertification's
  • Maintain resident files in accordance with company policy & regulatory agency policy
  • Assist office staff on other tasks, including collection of rents and social activities
  • Assist with the several administrative and leasing tasks
  • Perform other duties that may arise

The qualified candidate should possess impeccable customer service skills, strong communication skills verbal and written and a professional demeanor at all times. Must have two years recertification experience or professional certification such as Certified Occupancy Specialist and any of the industry HUD and LIHTC designations required- Section 8 or Public Housing is acceptable, have the ability to multi-task within time constraints, Attention to detail and ability to work independently on assignments as necessary Candidates should also be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, One-Site Property Management Software and Internet literate and have a full understanding of the requirements for HUD and LIHTC programs. Prior LIHTC

recertification experience is necessary. Ideal candidate will have a understanding of the HUD 4350, experience with the 236 program and their CPO.

Job Requirements

Requirements: The successful Assistant Community Manager will have the following qualifications:
2+ years of Property Management Experience a MUST
Excellent and premiere customer service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High-energy, hardworking, ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment with an excellent sense of urgency
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail and Internet and other Property Management systems
Certified Occupancy Specialist, HCCP, NCHM and any other field related designation(s) preferred
HUD knowledge/Recertification experience required
