Edgewood Management is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician in Baltimore, MD!

We are looking for an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician for a multi-family community.
The right candidate must have strong customer service skills, good communication skills, and be detail oriented. Qualified candidates must be able to follow an on-call rotation, perform necessary maintenance and repairs in units and be able to prioritize work as it comes in. They will maintain grounds, inspect buildings/grounds/common areas and suggest repairs, perform preventative maintenance, turn vacant units per company standards, perform appliance repair, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation and have their own tools. They will also be able to lift 50+lbs and pass a background check (criminal and credit).
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the physical upkeep of the community. He or she must maintain and operate all mechanical equipment excluding those specifically designated for contract repair and service. The Maintenance Technician is under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Requirements

Maintenancetechnicians are responsible for performing general maintenance of the apartmentcommunity, but not limited to the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC &carpentry.

 Thesuccessful Maintenance Technician will have the following qualifications:

  • Reliable Transportation
  • 2+ years Apartment Maintenance and Repair Experience
  • HVAC/EPA Certification
  • Electrical/ Plumbing/ Drywall & Painting/ General Carpentry
  • Communicate Effectively in person and in writing
  • Just have ability to think independently
  • Ability to handle multiple task 

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other functions may be assigned.

  • skills and abilities normally associated with completion of high school or GED equivalency.
  • Knowledge of general property management and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of maintenance programs gained through formal education or on-the-job training preferred.
  • May be required to work overtime, work outside, travel, be on-call or be available for emergency situations including weekends and holidays.
  • Cleaning of general and common areas of community 
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and good mathematic skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and foster an environment of team work.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination needed to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance and a physical examination will be required.
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
