Pratum Companies is seeking a Director of Technology (IT) to join our growing team! The position is responsible for the day-to-day direction, planning, and management of the company’s IT people, processes and technology. The position turns strategic guidance from the CEO and executive leadership into tactical implementation planning and guidance. The successful candidate will be an experienced engineer with demonstrable hands-on skills who harbors an aptitude and desire for leading people and projects.
NOTE: This role is not a work-from-home role and will require the selected individual to be based in the Maryland/DC Metro Area to work in our Gaithersburg, MD corporate office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to lead, motivate, inspire and coordinate the work of an IT team while also being a hands-on technical leader. Responsible for supervising local, remote, onshore and offshore IT team employees and contractors supporting Nationwide IT and IT Security Operations
- Manage internal and external IT relationships
- Plans, executes and assesses resource planning as directed by the CEO, to include hiring, training, and performance evaluation, necessary to enable near-term and long term strategic direction.
- Acts as highest level of trouble escalation for Windows environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 services, L2/L3 on site networks, Identity and Access Management (IDAM), Mobile Device Management (MDM) of highly distributed Windows device environment, security incident response leveraging Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Cisco Firewall, and VPN and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) technologies
- Manages the migration of on-premise systems such as Active Directory, SharePoint, SAN services, SQL databases and security email gateways, to cloud native solutions
- Oversees the management of internal databases and information sources including Microsoft SQL databases, BI Tools, and various reporting tools with an eye toward SAAS migration planning
- Capably scripts automations as needed to reduce IT level of effort in languages such as Python, .NET and SQL
- Oversees the implementation and management of property management industry related software including Yardi.
- Maintain relationships with and partner with other departments to support specific line of business software.
- Responsible for development and enforcement of standard policies and procedures, including but not limited to cybersecurity, disaster recovery, end-user computing, operational technology (OT), and systems.
- Ensures the reliability, confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems in compliance with applicable polices, industry best practices and regulations.
- Other duties, assignments, projects, and initiatives as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree, with 12 or more years combined experience in IT, Cybersecurity and/or engineering. Minimum of 3 years managing an IT team responsible for 500 or more users.
- Demonstrable experience in on-prem to cloud migrations
- 5 year’s experience managing Windows IT environment with direct responsibility for designing, managing and building Microsoft 365 environment to include Active Directory, Intune, Defender and Exchange.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, .NET, or Powershell
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- 2 years experience in Cisco ASA Firewall management
- Experience working with on-premise Hyper-V clusters a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong data analytical and troubleshooting skills
- A strong understanding of Windows event logs and the analysis thereof
- High level knowledge and experience with Property Management systems such as Yardi is required...RealPage and MRI are a plus.
- Ability to effectively motivate and manage small teams and leverage outsourced partners.
This role is exempt and has an anticipated annualized base salary range of $140k-$160k for a new employee depending on a number of relevant factors including individuals’ experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, client/property or company budgetary limitations/guidelines, and other job-related company and market considerations. This position may be eligible to receive discretionary and/or performance-based bonuses on a spot or annual basis, which are variable depending on individual merit/performance, budgetary limitations, company performance, and other job-related factors. Full-time positions (30+ hours/week) are eligible for 2 weeks paid vacation, 7 days sick leave, 11 paid holidays, and health & welfare benefits as outlined on the Company’s website.
